About the Fife Care Group

Fife Care Group is a care at home service provided by Fife Care Ltd, a private company that aims to provide a tailor-made care service to individuals across Fife. The company was founded in 2022 and was initiated to allow individuals to remain independently at home and as an additional safeguard to prevent unnecessary hospital or care home admission.

The organisation aims to support older people with disabilities to live as independently as possible within the comfort of their own homes. In providing this support, the aim is to prevent any unnecessary care home or hospital admission. The service aims at all times to support people to achieve their individual goals and to:

Promote dignity, respect and independence at all times

Provide a person-centred approach at all times so that people, as individuals can benefit from a customised care service as per their view and wishes

Actively involve Service Users in their care and support

Promote positive relationships with informal Carers, family members, other involved agencies and Local Authority

In 2022, in any given day in Fife, there is a record number of elderly and vulnerable individuals waiting months on a support package, even when this has been assessed as a critical need. In Fife’s hospitals, there are many people fit for discharge but simply cannot go home as there is no provider in a position to take on their assessed package of care. The Covid-19 pandemic has shed light on many of the pressures faced by care staff and indeed the NHS, however, for those who worked in the industry pre-pandemic, these pressures would have already been all too familiar. The current care at home situation in Fife has already been declared as reaching crisis point. The aim of Fife Care Group is to come in, alleviate some of the pressured on Local Authorities and health boards but at the same time, provide the best level of care and support no matter what the external factors may be.
